Rebuilding a sprawling enterprise analytics suite around a unified design system — cutting time-to-insight by 40%.
Atlas had grown organically into a tangle of inconsistent screens and patterns. Analysts spent more time fighting the interface than finding insight, onboarding took weeks, and churn was climbing as competitors shipped cleaner experiences.
Leadership needed a redesign that didn't just look better, but measurably reduced the effort of getting from question to answer — across every product line.
I began with discovery: 22 interviews with analysts and admins, a heuristic audit of 180+ screens, and a teardown of the most common workflows. Patterns of confusion clustered around navigation, inconsistent data-visualisation, and a query builder no one trusted.
From there I reframed the information architecture, designed a unified component and data-viz library on top of design tokens, and rebuilt the core query-to-insight flow with progressive disclosure and sensible defaults. Everything was prototyped and validated across two rounds of usability testing before hand-off.
The redesign shipped on a single, themeable design system now powering every Atlas product line — and the metrics moved where it mattered.
