A scalable, accessible, token-driven design system adopted across 40+ product teams.
Dozens of product teams were shipping inconsistent, often inaccessible interfaces with no shared foundation. Every team rebuilt the same components, the brand fractured across products, and design-to-development hand-off was slow and error-prone.
The organisation needed a single source of truth that teams would actually adopt.
I built Nova: a themeable, token-driven system spanning foundations, components, and patterns — documented thoroughly and governed with a clear contribution model. A phased adoption programme, office hours, and migration guides drove uptake across teams.
Design tokens piped through Style Dictionary kept design and code in sync, while accessibility was baked into every component by default.
Nova became the backbone of the product portfolio, unifying the brand and accelerating delivery org-wide.
